Born in 1976, Rob Pizem stems from Ohio. His main passion was hockey until, at 19, he discovered climbing. From that moment on, he never stopped. Wherever he goes, “Piz” makes a name for himself, and in his home country, the USA, he is a household name. Should we be amazed? Absolutely not, taking into account his exploits, among which we find the first free ascent of Arcturus (24 pitches, 8b) on the northwest face of Half Dome, Yosemite. He is mainly drawn to the Alps, however, and dreams of climbing the most renowned routes, not only rock ones, on the Matterhorn, the Eiger, Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Marmolada and Piz Badile. If you ask him why he has chosen C.A.M.P., he’ll tell you that his family has Italian origins and he is happy to be working with a company bringing him back to his roots. He then explains; “ C.A.M.P. reflects the same passion I have for the mountains and adventure, together with the skill in crafting tools making every climb a special one.” And if he says that, having climbed every type of route the world over, then we know it is true.
